International Beatleweek Comes to Museum of Liverpool as Part of Summer of Sound

International Beatleweek is set to take centre stage at the Museum of Liverpool this August as part of Summer of Sound, the city-wide music celebration presented by National Museums Liverpool in partnership with the world-famous Cavern Club.

Running throughout the summer, Summer of Sound celebrates Liverpool’s unmatched musical heritage with a programme of live performances, special events and emerging talent. Curated by the Cavern Club, the series showcases artists spanning generations, from the pioneers of Merseybeat to some of the city’s most exciting contemporary performers.

On Saturday 29 August 2026, the spotlight turns to International Beatleweek, the world’s largest Beatles festival, for a special showcase featuring artists from this year’s international line-up. The event forms part of the Cavern Club’s programme within Summer of Sound, a six-week celebration of Liverpool music at the city’s iconic waterfront museum.

Created by the Cavern Club in Liverpool, the legendary venue where The Beatles performed 292 times between 1961 and 1963, International Beatleweek has become a global celebration of the band’s enduring legacy. Each year, Liverpool welcomes thousands of fans and musicians from around the world for seven days and seven nights of live music, featuring more than 400 performances and artists representing over 20 countries. Recently named Festival/Event of the Year at the Liverpool City Region Tourism Awards, the festival continues to bring The Beatles’ music to life for audiences of all ages.

The Museum of Liverpool showcase will feature three outstanding artists representing the international spirit of Beatleweek:

Nube 9 (Argentina)
Widely regarded as one of Latin America’s finest Beatles tribute bands, Nube 9 is celebrated for its passionate and authentic performances, bringing the full Beatles catalogue to life for audiences around the world.

The Flaming Shakers (Spain)
Making their welcome return to International Beatleweek after nine years, The Flaming Shakers are renowned for their acclaimed “Boots & Suits” show, faithfully recreating the sound, style and energy of The Beatles using authentic instruments and costumes.

Gleison Túlio (Brazil)
Combining alt-rock and electro-acoustic influences, Gleison Túlio offers a fresh and inventive take on Beatles classics, creating unique interpretations while honouring the timeless songs that continue to inspire generations.

From faithful recreations to imaginative reinventions, the evening promises a vibrant celebration of the music that changed the world, performed by artists who have travelled from across the globe to be part of Liverpool’s annual Beatles celebration.

As the city where the story began, Liverpool remains the natural home of Beatleweek. This special performance at the Museum of Liverpool reflects the international reach of The Beatles’ music while highlighting the city’s continuing role at the heart of global music culture.
